My First Case of Writer's Block

Thursday, January 8, 2009 by Vontoo Marketing

I wanted to write something catchy and interesting about sports management marketing with Vontoo, somehow craftily tying in the performances of Mr. Peyton Manning and Mr. Michael Phelps on Saturday Night Live.  I had plans, a vision, yet here I am with nothing to say.  I know a guy who actually wrote his University of Chicago admissions essay on how he procrastinated writing it, and from that idea, I've decided to discuss what I wanted to say in this haphazard format.  (For those of you who are curious, he was wait-listed.  Perhaps this idea will land me flat on my face.)

The plot: The NHL has an all-star game this month and teams are using voice data integration to have fans vote for players.  Thirteen bowl cell phone notifications were sent in less than two weeks back in December. Professional lacrosse has apparently broken into the voice arena, and the NBA sent at least one call during each month but one in 2008, with college basketball and MLB in a close second.

Hey sports marketers, make your lives a bit easier.  Get it in gear and get on board with Vontoo.  It's what the cool kids are doing.

For enduring my fragmented post, enjoy Michael Phelps' discussion of his 12,000 calorie/day diet.  Must be nice.

Note to my readers: A big thanks to Mike and Becky Irons for being such devoted fans to our Vontoo blog.  Mucho appreciato.
